The support line

Gambling Support BC is a provincial government program that offers free help to any BC resident having difficulties because of gambling. Its line, 1-888-795-6111, is open 24/7. That includes someone whose difficulty is a loved one's gambling.

A call reaches a navigator who can help right away. From there, the navigator can find services nearby or connect the caller to a free counsellor. Counselling is free for BC residents. Since April 1, 2026, the line and counselling have run as one provincewide service.

The line is multilingual. Anyone who would rather not call can request help online at gamblingsupportline.ca, at any time.

Game Break self-exclusion

Game Break is BC's free, voluntary self-exclusion program. A person chooses a term of 6 months, 1 year, 2 years or 3 years. Once chosen, the term cannot be changed.

An agreement covers entering and playing at BC gaming facilities, and playing on PlayNow.com. It does not cover other online sites. Since June 2023, everyone entering a BC gambling facility must show government-issued photo ID, and IDs are checked against the self-exclusion list.

Signing up for Game Break takes place face to face with a registered gaming worker at a gaming facility. Alternatively, a BCLC employee can complete the enrolment through electronic means.

Help on the casino floor

Every casino in British Columbia has a GameSense Advisor available for people experiencing harm from gambling. That covers all nine casinos in this guide, from Parq Casino in Vancouver to Cascades Casino Langley.
